River Tay Scotland...Scotland’s longest river, at 120 miles, and the UK’s largest river by volume of discharge. These facts go some way to explaining its importance for rafting – reliable water levels throughout the year. The most rafted section is from Aberfeldy to Grandtully. This is a easy, scenic trip but includes some sections of Grade II rapids, plus the final descent of the Grandtully rapids (Grade III), the national site for whitewater competition. This makes a great introduction to river rafting and is generally suitable for all. We meet in Grandtully, where we have our main rafting base, then transport you to Aberfeldy where you are given a full safety briefing and paddling instruction at the start of the trip. Changing rooms and hot showers are available as soon as you come off the water. As with all trips with The Rafting Company, all specialist safety equipment is provided and included in the cost and an experienced, qualified guide is at the helm of each raft.
